All around Asia, the belief of life energy, a putative energy according to medical terms, is widespread taking different names: qi in China, Doshas in Ayurvedic Medicine, ki in the Japanese Kampo system. Therapies take a large number of forms: prana, etheric energy, fohat, orgone, odic force, mana, and homeopathic resonance.
Energy therapies involve the use of energy fields that are of two types:

Biofield therapies
Biofield therapies are intended to affect energy fields that purportedly surround and penetrate the human body. The existence of such fields has not yet been scientifically proven. Some forms of energy therapy manipulate biofields by applying pressure and/or manipulating the body by placing the hands in, or through, these fields.

Qi Gong stemming from Chinese Medicine these techniques combines movement, meditation, and controlled breathing to improve blood flow. Qi Gong is in fact reputed to treat high blood pressure and asthma
Reiki is a therapy in which practitioners seek to transmit a universal energy to a person, either from a distance or by placing their hands on or near that person to heal the body. Johre is a similar approach also coming from Japan

Bioelectromagnetic therapies
Bioelectromagnetic-based therapies involve the unconventional use of electromagnetic fields, such as pulsed fields, magnetic fields, or alternating-current or direct-current fields. Many diagnosis or disease treatments are using bioelectromagnetic properties (e.g. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), cardiac pacemakers, ultraviolet light for psoriasis, laser keratoplasty…). Derived from these practices are a series of therapies that are well adapted to treat a certain series of health conditions/diseases
- Magnetic therapy for edema, ischemic conditions
- Pulsating electromagnetic therapy to enhance the healing of nonunion fractures, osteoarthritis, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, and sleep disorders.
- Millimeter Wave Therapy to augment T-cell mediated immunity in vitro
- Light therapy for depression and sleep disorders
