I have been lately focusing pretty much on alternative medicine (acupuncture, ayurveda etc etc) as I have always considered that they were the real center of the concept called ‘medical tourism’. So I decided to lay the emphasis on alternative medecine by coming out with a small guide about
CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) from herbal therapy, to chiropractic to the healing touch …
I have the impression that alternative medicine is only made out of massage or strange techniques that are only accepted aby a small margin. Yet, the scope of the definition is pretty huge and deserves a lot of attention.

We are updating our report on Medical Tourism: a Global view, and would very much appreciate any information that you collect on the subject of alternative medcine form a medical tourism point of view. Whilst we have acknowledged the existence of spas in the context of medical tourism, we have not information on people travelling for alternative medicine.

Hi Raphael,
I’m one of three directors of America’s Medical Solutions in Bombay (Mumbai), India. We offer Ayurvedic and other alternative medicine, but not very often. We too would appreciate any and all the more information that may be forthcoming. We do, however, appreciate Ayurvedic medicine in particular. This is thousands of years old and contains some very strong evidences. I use it on myself regularly. I do not think it is a solution in itself, any more than surgery is a solution in itself, but that each deserves its own place. Thank you, DLW
